Putting the "Fun" back into "Fun"damentals! A professionally developed skill acquisition program that enhances your child’s hand-eye coordination, balance and movement, as well as teaching your child the technical and tactical basics of tennis. Your child will not only be learning all the shots but also rallying, scoring and playing fun games. 

InStyle Tennis's Hot Shots program uses the "red, orange, green" tennis ball system. To make learning easier, it is important your child uses the correct modified ball & court size. As your child progresses, so does the ball type & court size, resulting in a more fun and appropriate environment for learning and playing the game

ITM Squads Program

The ITM squad system is a key component for the development of our juniors. We have 3 main squad programs:

• Junior Development Squads 11yrs & under (Green ball, Orange Ball & Red ball)

• Development Squads 11yrs + (yellow ball)

• Elite Squads

Junior Dev Squads

We have now introduced junior development squads (11, 9 and 7 & under) for the more advanced young kids to enhance their tactical & technical game and prepare them for modified tennis competition, such as Hot Shots events and junior club pennant competition. These squads focus on the basics of gameplay and use the modified equipment & court areas to make learning faster!

Development & Elite Squads

Development squads are for the 11 & over player that is able to rally and looking to get ready for some competition. These squads focus on more advanced aspects of the games such as court positioning, shot selection, spins and match tactics as well as consolidating technique. The final ½ hr of each session is set aside for match play, so you’ll be ruling the court in no time! 

Elite squads are for those who are serious about their tennis and involve cutting edge, intense training. Players are set attainable goals and work through advanced aspects of tennis, fine-tuning their game style and learning to be a tough competitor. Elite squad members are usually taken through invitation, as a minimum standard is required. Most kids enter through the development squad system, however we’ll take anyone if they’re good enough and prepared to work hard!

Can't get down to the tennis club after school? That’s alright, we make it easy for you to get into tennis these days!

InStyle Tennis conducts 45min lessons each week at numerous primary schools surrounding Sorrento Tennis Club.

Kids have a blast learning tennis with their friends, with all registered players receiving a free New Balance Hot Shots T-shirt!

City of Joondalup Primary School Tennis Competition

In 2023, Sorrento Tennis Club hosted the 6th inter-school tennis competition for primary schools within the City of Joondalup.

After weeks of training sessions, each school selected 12 players (6 x yrs 6 & under, 6 x yrs 3 & under plus reserves) to compete. 9 schools participated including:

The winning school was DAVALLIA PRIMARY, narrowly taking the trophy from POYNTER PRIMARY, who were a close second!

The comp will be on again bigger & better in term 4, 2024.
